About Our Chamber

History of Iran & Belgium Economical Relations

Economic relations between Belgium and Iran date to the end of the nineteenth century. At that time, Iran benefited from Belgium cooperation in establishing of the first sugar factory, first railway line between Tehran and Rey and modernization of Custom & Finance Ministries and post, as well as Belgium that bought oil, carpet and wool from Iran. Long-standing economic relations between these two countries which was reduced since World War II, resumed from late 1340 (solar year) and developed. Establishing Iran & Belgium Chamber of Commerce & Industry in 1365 (solar year), and joining Luxembourg in 1390 at Tehran is considered as a very important step to developing this relationship. It is highly hoped that, by the cooperation of this Chamber, economic, trade and industrial activities of three countries grow in near future.

Objectives

  • Iran, Belgium & Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce and Industry as a non-profit organization pursues the following objectives:
  • Development of commercial, economic and industrial relation between three countries
  • Close cooperation  with the official authorities, organizations and institutions of three countries with a view to encouraging furthure development of these relations.
  • Gathering and evaluation of statistical data and other useful commercial, economic and industrial information related to three countries and putting them at the disposal of Iranian and Belgian and Luxembourgian applicants.
  • Making endeavors to meet the wishes and view points of three countries’ businessmen whenever appropriate.
  • Study and research with a view to creating the necessary possibilities for investment.
  • Facilitating the exchange of trade, economic and industrial delegation.
  • Organizing and administration of seminars, lectures, conferences and symposia.
  • Establishing and managing seminars, lectures and conferences and symposia dealing with commercial , economic and industrial issues of mutual interest.
  • Attempting to settle disputes arising from commercial , economic and industrial relations between three countries enterprises in amicable ways or by referring them to arbition (both internal and external), when so requested and upon the approval of the board of Directors of the Chamber.
  • Publication of information in the chamber’s Quarterly regarding question related to the promotion of trade and economic relations of three countries. Containnig changes in commercial and industrial laws and other common topics of interest.

IBLCCI Services :

  • Realization of the viewpoints of Iranian, Belgian & Luxembourgian industrial and commercial managers in the fields of commerce, industry, agriculture, mining and related activities.
  • Conducting research  and  studies  to  provide suitable  conditions  for investments  in  industry, mining  and   agriculture  in  the  three countries.
  • Expansion of the exchange of economic missions between these countries.
  • Compilation and evaluation of  statistics  and  other useful  information on commercial, industrial and economic issues of these  countries  and making such information available for the use  of  Iranian ,  Belgian & Luxembourgian
  • Providing information on the development of economic relations  between Iran , Belgium & Luxembourgian, including economic rules and regulations of  these countries as well as other issues of common interest;
  • Participation in the organization and management of exhibitions and  trade fairs within related laws as well as  helping Iranian, Belgian & Luxembourgian  industries and  individuals  eager  to take  part  in  fairs  and bazaars held  in  Iran  , Belgium & Luxembourg and the other countries.
  • Organization and managing of seminars, conferences, and symposia on trade and development of industrial and economic relations between these countries;
  • Cooperation with similar Chambers in Belgium & Luxembourg;
  • Attempt to settle differences arising from economic  exchanges  between Iranian, Belgian & Luxembourgian  real  and  legal persons  through conciliation and  if  necessary  encouraging  the   two  parties  to  seek  resolution  of  conflict  through Iran Chamber Arbitration Center;
  • Facilities with the Belgian Embassy in Tehran, Iranian Embassy in Brussels;
  • Representing companies in exhibitions, seminars, the chamber’s website and etc.
  • Advertising our patrons’ business in different events, exhibitions & trade fairs by our chamber.
  • Introducing Iranian companies and arranging meetings with them, especially those working in the same filed as our patrons.

√ Supervisory/ Honorary Membership may use the services of the Joint Chamber but are not allowed to attend or vote in meetings/assemblies.
